Which pond liner should I buy? - Flexiliner (LDPE) offers the best value for money

There are many flexible pond liners available on the market today. We have tested and sold practically all of the main fabrics and found that all can do a sound job. At the cheaper end of the market there is simple low density polyethylene (a plastic derivative). This fabric offers great tensile strength and puncture resistance but can be difficult to work with as it doesn't fold easily. However, there is a version called Flexiliner Pond Liner which is tightly woven polyethylene that is then laminated on both sides. This creates two benefits:
First - this micro weave process provides 'rip-stop' properties. If the liner takes a puncture or cut it will not run unlike all of the other 'uniform' membranes on the market.
Secondly - the pond liner now folds over on itself much more readily making it easy to work with.
The UV laminate strengthens the liner giving it long lasting properties.
Though not the thickest fabric (typically 0.35mm) it comes out top in tests for tensile strength and puncture resistance - because it also tends to be the lowest price membrane this product is our bestseller.
As with all pond liners we recommend that your pond is lined with a suitable pond liner underlay for protection before it is installed.
